Cordy was speechless-she was under the impression that John had missed her message “Then what
are you doing here?”
“Dinner
Cordy somehow had no comeback against that.
“Where’s the bathroom?” John asked.
“My room,” Cordy replied-she was living alone and did not need a shared bathroom, so she just had it
cleared for a study instead.
John entered, glancing at Richard, who was sleeping soundly in bed, before heading inside the
bathroom.
Cordy was going to turn and leave when she remembered something, and she dashed toward the
bathroom just as John was about to close the door
John raised a brow “Ms. Sachs “”
Cordy flushed again-she had left her clothes and undergarments in the bathroom after showering
She grabbed everything at once, looking flustered as she held them behind herself
John was looking with a smile
As Cordy was about to turn and leave again, he called out, “Ms Sachs?”
She turned again and flushed once more-he was holding her bra, even flapping them between his well-
built fingers!
She dropped it? And he picked it up?!
Did he not understand that there were things that must not be simply picked up from the floor? Or that
seeing no evil was a thing?
Cordy promptly snatched her bra off his hands and left as if fleeing, her ears crimson!
When John stepped out of the bathroom, Cordy was on the couch, having calmed herself down.
They were adults and it was nothing to be ashamed about.
Still, just as she got up and was about to send John away, she noticed in surprise that he was carrying
her
hairdryer
He found the nearest power socket and plugged it in before saying, “I’ll help you dry your hair”
While she was left speechless, he continued, “As thanks for taking care of Dicky, and for personally
making a homemade dinner.”
“The gown is way more than enough,” Cordy replied bluntly.
“I already received a notice from the boutique about the payment,” John replied. “Even if I’d rather you
didn’t wear a gown bought with someone else’s money, I’m good enough a businessman to not reject
value.”
Cordy was actually impressed that he could act so natural even when there’s so much money involved
At the same time, John said nothing else and untied her hair to dry it.
They were very close, and suddenly, there was only the sound of the hairdryer and a pounding heart.
Cordy thought that John must be elite when it comes to relationships… So how did he fail to keep.

Cordy walked John out the door, when John reached down to pick up the pair of male loafers. “I’ll help
you throw these away.”
Cordy pursed her lips-she had bought those for Kyle, but he barely visited her here, only using those.

It was her money anyway, and she was not was not wasteful.
“Mr. Levine,” she said, suddenly stopping him.
“Yes?”
“Are you a member of the Levines, who are a very famous family in this city?” she asked, staring at
him.
